To Crimp or Not To Crimp....

Fashion is cyclical, and with it, so is the beauty industry. In the realm of fashion, all things nostalgic are making their way back into our current trends, and the realm of beauty is no different. Now we are left with an important question to answer, and for some, it is a question we have asked ourselves before: to crimp or not to crimp?

Hair crimping has returned… and there are mixed feelings about its revival. The younger generations have already embraced this “new” way of achieving hair textures, but there is some resistance from those who have lived this life before… and understandable, so! With the voluminous hairstyles of the 70s, hair rollers, and 90’s lobs making their return to the limelight, it is no surprise that other hair trends from the past should find their way back at some point.

This time around, crimpers are being produced in all sizes; there's the classic baby crimp that instinctually comes to mind, but also ones with large barrels, producing more of a beach wave look than a crimp, and all sizes in between. Those who are new to the crimp seem to love how easy it is to use the hair tool. Others genuinely want to recreate “retro” hairstyles with accuracy. No matter the reason behind it, crimping has returned.
