back to basics…

At e.Allen, we are all for getting refreshed and revitalized for 2024.  Trends most certainly come and go; therefore, 2024 is looking like the perfect year to get back to basics in a BIG way.

Investing in timeless and versatile pieces is what our stylists shoot for year after year at market.  Thankfully, what’s hot for the year ahead falls in sync with that repetitive goal.  Looks are lending themselves to classic while neither too casual or too dressy.  Wardrobe basics are going to be a go-to from high end brands to lower end options.  While updates and fresh twists on the classics are for sure, the feel of being paired down and simplified is a refresh we are here for.

Staples We Suggest for 2024….

1. Button Downs – COH always nails a good button down; however, this season we are seeing TONS of brands follow suit!  Paired with cuffed denim or straight leg styles, we are loving how this classic shirt reigns supreme.
2. Cardigans + Bows – For the girly girl, we are loving this feminine trend that pairs with tiered skirting and denim, alike.       Countless rosettes, ribbons, and ruffles were all over the spring runways, meaning we’re in for a year of feminine, girlish fashion.
3. Denim Styles – The 90’s styles are rolling back onto the fashion forward scene. Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy will continue to be a big inspo with her scaled-down-chic looks paired with neutral tops.  Bags, dresses, and tops are also getting turns with this Americana-loved material as well.
4. Preppy Detailing – Our favorite trends take what we love about preexisting trends and inject something new into the look with extra points awarded for turning a trend on its head!
5. Ice – Move over pastels, there is a single new gal in town.  Ice, powder blue is the IT color for the season ahead….we’re so here for it.
6. Abbreviated Hemlines – A nod to the 60’s is a welcome one!  Think simple shapes BUT with a big, flirty impact!
7. Not-So-Basic-Tee – We love a good tee at e.Allen!  This season, ones that hit just at the waist are super popular.  We are also loving how designers are sneaking them under suiting and pairing with fringe (hint, hint…a spunkier seasonal trend for 2024).
8. Kitten Heels + Sligbacks – While a good platform is certainly fun to pop on with a spring dress, lower heeled options are everywhere this season.  Whether in a pop of color or underrated with a little embellishment, these shoe options are great with denim and dressier wardrobe options, too.
