Grammy night is always a highly-anticipated evening. From performances to the new “IT” couples making their debut, watching and waiting to see what the night entails is beyond exciting.
While chart-topping performances are certainly entertaining, the red carpet might just be the best part of tuning into the show. From the moment the very first stiletto steps out from a limo to the seconds before the stage curtain begins to rise, the arrivals of some of Hollywood’s best dressed is a spectacle in and of itself.
2023’s Grammy night provided so many good elements of fashion and style. While there were certainly some misses, this year’s celebs brought their A-game for the most part. Glammed up looks were back and better than ever. From sequins to pops of color, certain trends became overall themes for the evening and were shared amongst carpet members.
Navy blue was THE hue of the evening. Taylor Swift hit such a high note in a two-piece Roberto Cavalli number. Her bold (and MANY) diamond accessories provided the perfect compliment to the understated, yet chic, ensemble. Jennifer Lopez echoed her appreciation for navy in her ruffled gown with sky-high slits. Her Gucci selection was perfect for her figure, and everything down to her embellished platforms was sheer perfection as always. With Ben by her side as the perfect accessory (though not overly thrilled), her look was complete.
“Shine” was also in the running for a top trend at this year’s event. Be it Doja Cat’s black Versace gown or Harry Style’s jumpsuit, shining like a diamond was a common theme for the evening! Styles’ patterned number was assembled with over 250,000 crystals. While he did end up in his beloved Gucci performing and for the after party, his red carpet look by Paris designer EgonLab was a fun and unexpected high note. Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly rounded out the high impact shine look as a perfectly-coordinated D & G couple. Their attire was on trend for the evening AND made them easy to spot….as if they could ever not be!
The last element of style pervasive throughout the evening was artistic and BIG statement-making ensembles. Cardi B’s Mugler Couture was breathtaking. From the cobalt blue hue to the romantic structure of the gown, she made such a statement singing no words at all. Beyonce, Kasey Musgraves, and Lizzo are a few other leading ladies worth mentioning that decided this year was THE year to go big or go home. Over the top elements and pops of texture made all of these talented women stand out from the crowd this year.
While we can’t touch on all attendees, the above trends certainly made their mark in celeb Grammy style for 2023. It’s so fun to see flamboyant and statement-making fashion making it’s way back in such a glamorous way!
