While a traditional Christmas theme or modernized version always has our hearts, there’s a new festive interior trend that we love and have implemented at our HQ location: Bows. While you usually find these as gift adornments under your tree, bows are not just for the presents.
Bows have been a big statement in the fashion world this year, starting in late 2023 with the boom of the ballet core trend. With bow hair accessories, bow-shaped bag handles, and bow shoe and clothing adornments or silhouettes, it’s safe to say that these dainty details are a collective favorite of the season. They have continued to hold strong and remain prevalent not only in fashion but also in interior decorating.
Starting with the centerpiece of most holiday decorating… the tree. While ornaments are the typical go-to, bows have either been incorporated with or outright replaced these classic decorations. Bow tree toppers have also made an appearance on shelves and in homes.
This next item is arguably what sparked the bow obsession for festive decor this year; Anthroplogie’s bow garland has been seen all over socials, purchased or DIY interpretations. This decor piece also inspired people to adorn their traditional garland with bow details. But once you start incorporating this trend, it can be hard to stop. To keep the theme cohesive throughout your decor, hang some festive velvet or knit bow stockings by your chimney with care!
Another honorable mention of this delicate trend is bow-adorned candles, candle sticks, and candle holders. These are simple and easy ways to still participate in the trend while staying true to your holiday tradition and decor. Sometimes just a touch is enough to do the trick!
